Chuck Berry almost collapses in concert from exhaustion

A recent event took place at a Berry live performance, which had fans of the rock legend afraid for his health. He is doing fine, though. Berry nearly collapsed on a piano bench onstage, and had to be helped off. However, he is now in strong condition. The 84 year old living legend is resting at his home.

Seeing Chuck Berry come near to fainting while in a live performance at Chicago

ABC reports that Chuck Berry fell ill in the course of a concern before getting to “Auld Lang Syne” at a live performance that was at the Congress Theater in Chicago on New Year's. Berry started to slump over while sitting down at the electric piano onstage while performing. Berry was helped offstage after he waved for help. A half hour later, he came back so supporters would know he was okay. Then the dance step he made famous, "duck walk," was done by him. The "duck walk" was copied by lots of different individuals. Angus Young of AC/DC was the most famous. Berry had been feeling ill that evening, and he returned home to St. Louis the next day.

Supporters will get to see Chuck Berry's live performance another time

The live performance is already rescheduled for January 19 and is sold out, according to Yahoo News. Berry is 84 years old but very healthy. He was just fatigued at the moment. Berry flew to Chicago after performing 2 concerts in New York City on New Year's Eve.

Ongoing in power

The influence and longevity that Berry has is uncommon among musicians. Berry has been the influence for artists like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Ted Nugent, AC/DC and legions while he has recorded since the 1950s. "Johnny B. Goode" has one of the best guitar riffs ever known in it. Part of the bedrock of rock and roll includes other songs of his including "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Maybellene". The genre is personified by Chuck Berry. He is almost precisely what it is.
