2011 Toyota Sienna’s recalled over brake light trouble

2011 Toyota Sienna recalled due to brake light issue

Just when Toyota thought it was out of the recall jungle, the (faulty) break lights began flashing. The snake bitten automaker has announced a 94,000-strong recall of 2011 Toyota Sienna autos because of issues with the brake light switching bracket. All Toyota Sienna cars in question were produced before November 2010. Toyota has had enough product recalls to require them to take out an enormous payday loan to fix the troubles.

Sienna recall discussed by Toyota

Toyota explained in a press release the brake light switch bracket is positioned wrong in relation to the parking brake pedal. This is why the Sienna recall had to happen. The brake switch light may malfunction and bend when the parking brake comes into physical contact with it when fully deployed. It is possible that even if the brakes aren't being used, the brake lights will stay on. The brakes might even stay partially engaged because of the warped bracket, states Toyota. The breaking might even be impaired if brake drag occurs.

At this time, Toyota has stated that the business is not aware of any accidents or injuries that have resulted from the brake light switch bracket problem, although the potential for impaired braking could very easily trigger such problems, given time.

Users of the 2011 Toyota Sienna can be reached

Starting within the middle of Jan, 2011, Toyota could be sending first-class postal mail to all Toyota Sienna drivers affected. The communication will consist of instructions for how Sienna drivers should proceed. The recall section of Toyota's website will even have this details on it.

Information on how to replace parts for the brake light switching bracket will be sent in Late February. Sienna owners should expect first class postal mail with this too. Also, Sienna owners will be expected to go to the nearest Toyota dealer for an installation appointment. At the appointment, a switching bracket will be installed that considers the parking brake pedal position which will come at no charge.
