Google Latitude, a cellular location-sharing app, was approved by Apple for your iPhone. Google Latitude was created for Android in 2009 and an app compatible with the iPhone had been promised ever since. Google claimed there have been 9 million people that use the app when it announced Google Latitude for iPhone, a number that is being disputed. Ideally the application will not cost lots of cash so consumers who would like to utilize it will not have to take out a cash til payday loan for it. Google’s Latitude location-sharing app
Whenever you are carrying your smartphone, your friends and family can track you wherever you are with Google Latitude. The free app lets users share their location at any particular moment on Google Maps. Everyone else who has Google Latitude can discover you in a moment. They won't have to call to attempt and discover you. Google Latitude is 100 percent opt-in based on Google. Users can turn off Latitude’s background updating to conceal their location when they’re not using their smartphones. The city you are in can be what you go for instead. This would be for everyone who doesn't want to share exact addresses. You are not being tracked anymore once you sign out.
Apple altering opinion on Latitude
The Android has seen the Google Latitude app for a while. Since February 2009, it has been available. The issue was that the Apple iOS couldn't' support multitasking. In order for background updating to occur, this was needed. Due to iPhone's native Maps application, the Apple Application Store initially rejected the Google Latitude application. The just-approved Google Latitude for iPhone was re-engineered for iOS 4, which includes multitasking. To use the app calls for iOS 4 or newer on an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4.
Foursquare competitors with Google Latitude
When Google introduced Google Latitude for your iPhone it stated that nine million people were active users of the app. That’s about twice as many users as the popular location-sharing application Foursquare. Google may be including the Maps application on each Android phone when saying there are nine million active users of Latitude, says TechCrunch. Many users that Google talks about may not even know Latitude is getting used. It might be running in the background without the users knowing it is giving away their every move.
